Cooking with fire

bannockWe created this new course for 2013 to fit in with the popularity of camping, glamping and generally eating outdoors! Cooking with fire is great fun and produces some incredible food.

The participants learnt how to cook in lots of different ways, useful in the garden, on a campsite or in the wilderness. There was something for every taste cooked in all sorts of different ways. Some of the techniques could be used on barbeques or with camping stoves but here in our wood we were  cooking on wood fires.

On the course the group learned the rules of successful fire building, cooked blueberry drop scones in the morning as a mid morning snack. Together we made different types of campfire bread, and learned all sort of ways to create amazing outdoor meals.

Spit roasted chicken with bannock bread, roasted onions, chapattis, yoghurt, salad and hot smoked Halloumi cheese. ...and that was just lunch!

At the moment we still have spaces on the next Cooking with Fire course on the 7th September.
