We are proud to be supporting Slow Food week this year and will be helping to run a fantastic event at The Cookery School at Little Portland St.
The interactive ‘Fishing and Foraging Class’ will see me working along side Caroline Bennett owner of Moshi Moshi sushi and expert in the sourcing sustainable fish. I will be bringing along the best of the seasonal wildfood for you to taste and the chefs from the cookery school will be cooking up a storm too, so why not join us for a wonderful evening of Slow food, foraging, fish and fun! Slow Food UK Week 2013: June 1-9 A message from Slow Food UK
This June, Slow Food groups, chefs and businesses – all of whom share our ethos – will be organising some wonderful public events around the country.
But we are also encouraging people to host their own celebrations at home, by cooking with leftovers, seasonal or Forgotten Foods. Slow Food promotes the enjoyment and the pleasure of food while having a responsible attitude towards it. We believe the best way of celebrating this is by sharing a slow meal with your friends and family.
This year, the focus will be on six new Forgotten Foods at the Slow Food UK Ark of Taste. We want Slow Food Week to be a forum for reinforcing the movement’s work with local artisan producers and suppliers to preserve special British flavours.
Apart from attending events or organizing their own, people can also get involved through our online auction (http://www.slowfood.org.uk/slow-food-week-online-auction/). Here they can bid for wonderful products and experiences that were kindly donated by our chefs and supporters. All proceeds will support the Slow Food cause.
